Vallarta Yacht Club invites you to participate in WesMex 2010 to be held in conjunction with Regata Copa Mexico Edicion Nextel Bi-centenario. The dates for WesMex 2010 are March 5, 6 & 7 and while only the Optimist class is part of Regata Copa Mexico Edicion Nextel Bi-centenario, WesMex 2010 also includes an open invitational to Lasers, Laser Radials and Sunfish classes. This event will be an eliminatory for Opti’s for the 2010 North Americans to be held in Kingston, Canada as well the European Continental Optimist Championships to be held in Kamien-Pomorski, Poland.

Vallarta Yacht Club is located just 6 miles north of the Puerto Vallarta airport and is an easy flight from most major Mexican and US cities. Located within Paradise Village Resort (http://www.paradisevillage.com), this venue offers a most convenient locale for family vacations while participating in this great event.

WesMex 2010 was invited to join Regata Copa Mexico Edicion Nextel Bi-centenario and therefore offers some enticements to Opti racers. International Opti participants will have the opportunity to rent Opti’s for this event and will have an “early sign up” offering. The Regata Copa Mexico Edicion Nextel Bi-centenario event is comprised of the Mexican Offshore Fleet and the J24 fleet, with Optimists, Kite Surfers and Windsurfers being invited to participate as well. As part of the Copa Mexico Edicion Nextel Bi-centenario, Opti participants will have the opportunity to attend a number of events during this 2-week celebration.
